Terry Bozzio Auditioned for Smashing Pumpkins

That was something I did not know...

I'll keep you posted with any more info from the Drum Channel feature as I watch...

Ah, too much to go into now. Sorry. Fail blog. Twas very good...

But I will just say, based on what Chamberlin says in this interview & everything Jimmy has said since leaving the Pumpkins, at the clinics, on the radio shows; anyone who buys into Corgan saying that Jimmy wanted the band to be an 'oldies' act, is just plain wrong.

Just one last thing > HOLY SHIT the Terry Bozzio / Jimmy Chamberlin drum jam is absolute & pure GENIUS.

  1. Wow. That's...interesting. Would be curious to know the details of that situation. (Pretty sure TB is buds with JC, based on some comments made at clinics).

Makes you wonder if their personalities didn't mesh (not the right "fit"), or perhaps TB would be too expensive.

That would have been a sight to see. Crazy.

  2. Indeed, he, Bozzio said that one of the tracks he had to audition was 'rat in a cage', to which Jimmy burst out in fits of laughter... But but Terry said that he wasn't feeling it and didn't have much time to prepare for the audition(a day)...

Great News on BC/JC insights. I still feel like a lot of things are/have been kept away from the fans ...

  6. The interview makes it sound like Jimmy never felt right in SP. Could be a recent change in perspective, but even still, wow.

  8. About never feeling comfortable, I think it was more in reference to how sometimes the songs were put together and how that conflicted with his (natural) instinct... but i'll have to watch it all again. So tired....

As for TB & JC being friends C, for sure.

But yeah, before i hopefully fall asleep, talking about honouring the past, Being respectful of it and being concerned with a legacy of integrity, not with writing certain songs to pay bills or playing songs that you no longer enjoy, all echo what he's said before.
