More Details on Chamberlin's Jazz Record

According to the Chicago Tribune, the record (which should be released sometime this year) promises to be "a high-powered, high-energy affair."
"It's definitely a jazz album,"
says Frank Catalano of his partnership with Chamberlain and [Percy] Jones. "Yeah, Percy has played on Brian Eno records, and Chamberlin with the Smashing Pumpkins, obviously, but they're such good players in a jazz setting too. "I knew it would be a powerful trio, but it has ballads also."

The record was recorded around Thanksgiving, and they're about to start the mixing process...

As always - more details, when I hear them.

Jimmy Chamberlin Snare's Archived...

So, remember when Jimmy Chamberlin sold off a bunch of his snares a couple of years ago (2005)? Well, I happened to stumble-upon where some of them ended up;  right here, at the The Audities Foundation - a charitable organisation concerned with "the preservation of electronic musical instruments, sound recording equipment and associated documentation for use in museums, recording studios, modern instrument research and new music / dance / film works."

I may go through the list and match some of the snares, as I await my download of MCIS ...

Queens of the Stoneage Seeking Drummer

... and [The] Grunge Report recommends Chamberlin.
Whilst the prospect is most certainly intriguing, I can't see it happening.
